Lack of safety with DIY Blinds

I went into a “do it Yourself” superstore the weekend to get some bits and bobs. Samuel was with me and we ended up walking round and round most of the warehouse. We came across the isle where they sold their blinds. Naturally I took the opportunity to check out the quality and what they had on offer.

Their pricing was extremely cheap – granted these were pre-determined sizes and they had to be cut to size. Well any handy DIY person could do such a task and price is a major factor for some when buying.

But the one thing that really got my goat, made me so angry was the fact that none of their Roller Blinds had Child Safety Chain connectors (Snap links – allow the chain to break with 8 to 12lbs of pressure)

Now a National DIY chain that “wants to get results” probably sells more blinds to families on a budget or single parent families than any other DIY store in the UK

Do yourselves a favour – your Cheap imported blinds are currently very dangerous and for pennies YOU can correct this. Changed them NOW!!

Anyone who has brought a DIY blind, make sure they are Child friendly and have a minimum of a Chain Connector that snaps
