History

John’s Blinds was established in 1975 on Romford Market by John Margrain. John built an established business from his stall in Romford selling mainly Roller blinds, venetian blinds and Vertical blinds.

In November 2009 John reached the ripe old age of 65 and really did not want to continue doing what he did.  On the 15th November Sue and I bought the business from her father and made it a Limited company.

We took over the running of the Romford market stall, building on the reputation that John had established. Since then we have opened a new stall on Chelmsford high street and continue to open new markets every year.  At present we have opened a total of 4 outlets, to include Braintree and Bishop’s Stortford.

We have extended the range of blinds we now offer to include Roller blinds, Vertical blinds, Venetian blinds, Perfect Fit blinds, Pleated blinds, Wood Venetian blinds, and Roman blinds.

80% of our business comes from word of mouth and recommendations and we have built a team of great staff who are dedicated to ensure our customers receive the best service possible. We pride ourselves on our services from initial contact, by phone in the office or on our stalls, surveys in our customers’ home or office, through to installation and aftercare.

We wanted to show our customers that we really care about what we do and looked for an accreditation to prove this. We have been approved by Essex Trading Standards to be a part of their Buy With Confidence Scheme. This is a scheme that guarantees the businesses within it are good and proper, experts and knowledgeable in their industries. Look out for the BWC logo.
